PARAMETER STATEMENTS AS WRITTEN

Syntax:

PARAMETER STATEMENTS AS WRITTEN

CHANGE PARAMETER STATEMENTS [TO] [STANDARD] [FORM]

Function:

The command CHANGE PARAMETER STATEMENTS TO STANDARD FORM instructs FPT to convert FORTRAN IV PARAMETER statements to standard FORTRAN 77 format. FORTRAN IV PARAMETER statements are written without parentheses, and the data types of the parameters are inferred from the data types of the right-hand-side literal values or expressions. Thus, for example, in the statement:

PARAMETER KAPPA=0.6416

the data type of KAPPA is inferred to be single precision REAL, and no other data type declaration may be made for KAPPA. Note that KAPPA begins with the letter K and would normally have an implicit data type of INTEGER. The PARAMETER statement is converted to read:

REAL*4 KAPPA PARAMETER (KAPPA=0.6416)

FORTRAN IV PARAMETER statements are accepted by VMS Fortran and by some other systems.

The command PARAMETER STATEMENTS AS WRITTEN instructs FPT to transcribe the PARAMETER statements without modification.
